Mary Ellen Taylor’s Union Street Bakery Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup butter

½ cup sugar

1-1/4 cup brown sugar

1 egg

1 egg yoke

1 teaspoon rum extract

2-1/2 cups All Purpose Flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1-1/2 cups chocolate chips

1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cream together the butter and sugars.  Add the egg, egg yoke and the rum extract.  Shift together flour, baking soda and salt.  Mix in chips and nuts.  Scoop onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
