FRANKLIN, Ind. — An Indiana man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly attacked and choked his fiancée following an argument about racing. Deputies said 57-year-old David Wilson’s fiancée called 911 during the Indianapolis 500 after Wilson got upset during a dispute over whether NASCAR or IndyCar was better, according to WRTV.
Wilson’s fiancée, who told police they had been drinking all day, said Wilson got angry when he heard her and another person “talking trash about NASCAR” and how IndyCar is better than NASCAR. Wilson admitted to police he overheard the conversation and yelled into the room at both of them, but he denied the physical altercation took place.
Wilson also told police he was frustrated because no one in the home would help with household work. He was arrested on preliminary charges of domestic battery and strangulation.
