GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. — Hundreds of runners took part in the Virginia Memorial Day 12k & 5k Run, Walk, or Roll Race Monday morning at West Creek Business Park in Goochland. The race helped raise money for the Wounded Fund, Inc., according to the event’s website.

The race benefits Families of the Wounded Fund, Inc., which provides financial resources in support of family members/caregivers of military service men and women who have either been wounded in combat operations, or injured as a result of line-of-duty activities. These wounded American men and women heroes and their families lives have been changed forever. They clearly understand the high cost of freedom. This non-profit organization provides the needed support to assist these families.
