Accident, congestion creates big slowdown on I-95 north

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. – An accident, a disabled vehicle and heavy traffic are creating gridlock along I-95 north in Henrico and Hanover counties Monday afternoon.

VDOT reported than a wreck closed the interstate’s left shoulder near the Hanover County Airport (mile marker 87.9) in Hanover.

Additionally, a disabled vehicle along the left shoulder near the Bass Pro Shops (mile marker 88.9) is causing delays.

VDOT also warned drivers of congestion along the interstate  not far from Virginia Center Commons (mile marker 86.4) in Henrico. As of 2:40 p.m., traffic was backed up about two and half miles.
