RICHMOND, Va. — A two-alarm fire at a Richmond apartment complex Sunday afternoon has displaced four families.

The blaze broke out at the Stafford Hill Apartments in the 2500 block of East Tremont Court just before 1:15 p.m.

When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke. The fire was marked under control just before 2 p.m.

Officials said the blaze damaged three apartments. One family said they lost everything in the blaze.

The Red Cross is assisting the four adults and three children forced out of their homes.

“Our team is working with each family to determine their immediate needs,” Red Cross Communications Officer Jonathan McNamara said. “Our first priority is to ensure they have a safe place to stay and we are providing each family with food and clothing.

No one was injured.
