PETERSBURG, Va. – Three separate crashes are backing up traffic on I-95 in Petersburg and I-85 in Dinwiddie County Thursday afternoon.
VDOT reported that drivers should expect major delays due to a multi-vehicle accident on I-95 north near the exit for Route 1 (mile marker 52.2) in Petersburg. That wreck closed the left, center and right lanes of the interstate. As of 4:30 p.m., traffic was backed up 1.7 miles.
To complicate matters, another nearby wreck along I-95 north near Southpark Mall (mile marker 52.6) is also backing up traffic.
Additionally, a rollover crash on I-85 north in Dinwiddie County (mile marker 61) is causing delays.
