RICHMOND, Va. — Plans to renovate the Kanawha Plaza have passed the city’s Planning Commission eight to one in a Monday vote.
The city wants to renovate the plaza with a $3 million investment, and leaders want it done in time for the 2015 UCI World Championships. Close to a million people are expected to visit the city, from Sept. 19-Sept. 27.
The renovations will add space for food trucks and a bandstand for concerts.
