CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Two teenagers were arrested in connection to a weekend break-in and vandalism at Elizabeth Scott Elementary School in Chester. The 17 and 14-year-old suspects were charged with breaking and entering and felony vandalism. Both were released to the custody of their parents, according to Chesterfield Police.

“A custodian entered the school [at about 6:40 a.m. on April 25] and immediately saw graffiti on multiple walls. A second school employee on scene then entered another part of the building and saw additional damage. The two then called police,” a Chesterfield Police spokeswoman wrote in an email. “Significant damage, including graffiti, broken electronics and broken glass, was found inside the school. Also, several fire extinguishers were set off throughout the building.”

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call Chesterfield Police at 804-748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
