Deputy discovers bodies in home during Colonial Heights eviction

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. -- Two bodies were discovered in a home on Floral Avenue in Colonial Heights Tuesday, according to sources with the Colonial Heights Police Department. The bodies are that of a man and a woman. The names of the deceased have not yet been released, nor has the cause of death.

The bodies were discovered at about 10:13 a.m. by a sheriff's deputy who entered the home to evict the people who lived there. Virginia State Police investigators were called to the home assist Colonial Heights Police. Several Colonial Heights detectives were in court Tuesday tending to another case and unavailable to respond to Floral Avenue.

Police were expected to release additional information about the discovery later Tuesday afternoon. Anyone with information about this situation can submit a tip here. This is a developing story.
