Regular dental check ups can help prevent serious health problems

RICHMOND, Va - Dr. James Burns, D.D.S., Ph.D., M.S.Ed. from VCU Dental Care, shared the importance of regular dental checkups and their role in prevention and/or early detection of serious oral health problems. Over 42,000 people are diagnosed with oral cancer annually, and Dr. Burns walked us through various forms, signs, symptoms, and causes of oral cancer. In observance of National Oral Cancer Awareness Month, VCU Dental Care will host free oral, head, and neck cancer screenings on Saturday, April 25th from 9am to 1pm at 521 N. 11th Street.
