RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham is a little more than halfway into what he called his 100 days of focus. The initiative is people-oriented policing meant to identify the needs of the community and police. At Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School in the city's first precinct, Durham answered questions Monday night and listened to community members' concerns.

The new chief said he'll turn the input from residents into something substantial and sustainable to show a partnership between the city’s police and the community. He also announced that the police force has ordered 200 body cameras.

One initiative Durham is pushing is having people know his officers by name. He'll continue to host town hall meetings in each of the city’s precincts through Thursday.
