ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon is searching for a new head basketball coach after Nathan Davis resigned to become the new Head Coach at Bucknell, replacing Dave Paulsen, officials announced late Sunday.

Davis was an assistant at Bucknell from 2003-2008.

The Yellow-Jackets alum led the team to it's most successful six year period in school history.  He finished 141-39 in his tenure at R-MC to include a 70-11 record at home.  Randolph-Macon won three ODAC Championships and appeared in six straight NCAA Tournaments for the first time in school history. R-MC reached the Final Four in Davis’ first season in 2010. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in 2013 and the Elite Eight in 2015.

Last year was a historical one. The Yellow-Jackets finished 28-3..tying a school record for the most wins in a season.  They won 25 straight...which set a school record.  R-MC became the first team in ODAC history to go undefeated during the regular season and win the conference tournament.  Randolph-Macon was ranked No. 1 in the nation, earned a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament and reached the Elite Eight after a pair of home tourney victories.

Davis was named ODAC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season and was named Coach of the Year in the South District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
