HENRICO, Va. — Dominion Crews are working to restore power after an early morning crash knocked out power to hundreds of customers in Henrico.

Officers blocked off a section of Airport Road at Hanover Road after a driver crashed into a telephone pole around 12:45 am Saturday morning.

Police say the impact knocked the power lines into the street and, according to Dominion Virginia Power’s website, more than 1,500 customers lost power.

Crews shut off the power so paramedics to reach the victim.

EMT’s took the driver to VCU with non-life threatening injuries.

A small section of Airport Road was blocked as a result of the accident.
