ENON, Va. – A community is still fuming over the vulgar handiwork of vandals who hit a Chester neighborhood back in January.

A father whose son attends Enon elementary declined to show his face but he said he has big concerns about a curse word that still visible on the side of one neighbors home.

“It is sad,” he said. “And it's so disrespectful to the area.”

The problem he said is this graffiti is just yards away from Enon Elementary School's playground.

“Definitely concerning and it's embarrassing,” he said. “Our children can see this if they are on the playground and from different classrooms with in the school; it needs to be addressed.”

Dad says he contacted Chesterfield County but wasn't satisfied with their response.

It looked like an attempt to remove the word was made but it didn't work out. CBS 6 contacted the county to see what they can do to help resolve the problem. They said it is the responsibility of the homeowner.

Planning administrator Ted Barclay said now that it's on their radar they will find a way to help the homeowner resolve the problem.

“We certainly don't want to add to the victimization of the property owner by hitting her with a notice,” Barclay said. “We will try to work with her and get this resolved and do whatever we can do to get resolved sooner rather than later.”
