RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University basketball got a sorely needed dose of good news Wednesday night, when freshman forward Justin Tillman tweeted that he will be staying with the Rams.
Earlier this week, Tillman had asked for his release from VCU following the departure of head coach Shaka Smart to the University of Texas. Tillman averaged 3.6 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per contest, but gained confidence and minutes as the season went along, and was being counted on to increase in all areas as a sophomore next year.
VCU is still looking to rebuild its 2015 recruiting class after all three recruits asked out of their letters of intent.
