VCU Athletic Director Ed McLaughlin has started the process to find Shaka Smart's replacement.  CBS-6 Sports has learned that McLaughlin has interviewed two of Smart's former assistants Mike Rhodes and Will Wade.  In his first season as Head Coach at Rice, Rhodes improved the Owls five wins over the previous year and had a successful stint at Randolph-Macon for a decade.  Wade won 22 games in his second as head man at UT-Chattanooga.

Virginia Tech held another Spring scrimmage before their Spring Game April 25th.  Several Hokies didn't play due to earlier injuries this offseason.

Virginia State wrapped up their first Spring under new Head Coach Byron Thweatt.

Richmond Raiders won their first game of the season with a 60-45 win over Alabama.

Richmond Kickers and USL-Pro newcomer Louisville played to a 1-1 tie.
