VCU students lead Wellness Block Party for Richmond community

RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia Commonwealth University will hold their eighth annual  VCU Wellness Block Party Saturday, March 21, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Armstrong High School.

The student-run block party is a community health fair that is free to the public. The event will have health services, education, and screenings for the Richmond community including dental services and STI/HIV screenings.

Pharmacists will also be available to answer any questions attendees may have. The Services will be provided by representatives of several of VCU’s health sciences schools and local community health organizations.

Follow-up resources will also be provided.

This event will also feature special guests including Black Thought, from the Roots, and Richmond’s Chad Coleman, from “The Walking Dead,” VCU’s Rodney the Ram, and Nutzy the Flying Squirrel will also be in attendance.

The event will also feature an obstacle course provided by Sports Backers and 106.5 The Beat will also be broadcasting live during the event. Lunch will also be provided for participants.
