ATLANTA — With just over a week left in the legislative session, house representatives took a break from voting on the issues to listen to an Atlanta rapper take the microphone.

Ludacris and his self-titled “Ludacris Foundation” were commended for tireless efforts focused on helping teenagers pursue their dreams.

WGCL reportsHouse Resolution 643 was written by Rep. Valencia Stovall, and passed in honor of his hard work.

“I do it because I want to encourage anybody and everybody to always give back. Sometimes people think giving back means going into your pocket. Sometimes it’s just about dedicating energy and time, but you can volunteer in your own community just to help clean up- things of that nature. I think it’s just one neighborhood at a time,” said Chris “Ludacris” Bridges.

His foundation teaches children leadership skills, encourages them to get involved the right activities, and promotes living healthy.

Before leaving the House, Ludacris received congratulations from Jeb Bush, who just happened to be in the room to hear his speech.

Ludacris also lived out his fantasy of being House Speaker, pounding the gavel at the beginning of the session.
