MIAMISBURG, Ohio -- An Ohio woman with a prosthetic leg said she was happy when her apartment complex gave her a parking spot closer to her door, but now she is in a battle of words with a neighbor who keeps taking her spot. Ashley Brady, 26, lost her right leg in an accident last year. After learning how to walk again with a prosthetic stairs are the easy part.

"I struggled a lot across the parking lot with the snow and ice in the parking lot trying to learn how to balance and walk" Brady said. "I fell multiple times."

Her apartment complex eventually designated a parking spot for Brady to avoid icy falls.

"I finally get my handicapped parking spot last Thursday and then I come home on Saturday and they're parking in my parking spot," she said.

Brady decided to leave a note when she didn't see a handicap placard or plate.

Hanicapped letter

"I was stern and confident in what I was saying," Brady said. "She in return had placed this really rude letter under my windshield wiper that said: 'Hey handicapped! First, never place your hands on my car again! Second, honey you ain't the only one with 'struggles' I let the office know the cry baby one leg touches my property I will cause trouble. So go cry your struggles to someone who cares cause I'm walking away with both mine!'"

Brady said she read the mean letter five times in disbelief.

"If this person really knew her they would never talk to her that way because she's so sweet," Brady's sister, Kaitlyn Siler, said.

Brady's sister posted a picture of the note on Facebook in hopes of bringing awareness to the struggles that come with disabilities. Since then, the post has been shared more than 1,000 times.

"I got a lot of feedback from this online from a lot of other amputees who have been in similar situations," Brady said. "You're not just going to get what you want by being bullying. She told me to cry to someone who cares, so I went to the internet and it turns out a lot of people care."

Brady has filed a grievance with police in Miamisburg.

Management of the apartment complex have not yet decided on a course of action for the incident.
