The woman Del. Joe Morrissey pleaded guilty to having an inappropriate relationship with while she 17 years old and was working as a secretary in his law office has given birth.

The former Democrat, who was forced to resign his seat in the legislature last year, is serving time on work release after being charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for alleged sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl. He entered an Alford Plea.

The family of Myrna Pride, who spoke with CBS 6 News' Shelby Brown a few months ago, confirms to CBS 6 that she had her baby.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Delegate Morrissey was there for the birth.

CBS 6 legal analyst Todd Stone said the fact that Morrissey was reportedly there may factor into the current case against him on document forgery charges.

“The prosecutor's theory has been that he's a puppet master of the young lady and her mother who's charged with these new offenses, so the prosecutor may try to establish that he's still a puppet master of these folks,” Stone said.

Morrissey is accused of forging documents as part of the case involving pride. That trial is slated for April.

The teen's mother is also charged with forgery in that case.

After 90 nights behind bars, Morrissey completed his sentence last week. The former Democrat, who was forced to resign his seat in the legislature last year, but then won reelection as an independent candidate, entered an Alford Plea after he was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for alleged sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl.
