Crashes slow traffic on I-95 south in Hanover

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — Crashes slowed traffic on I-95 south in Hanover County Sunday evening.

VDOT said the left and center lanes of I-95 south were closed just south of Lewistown Road (mile marker 89).

Virginia State Police said two separate crashes in that area happened around 5:35 p.m.

One wreck involved five vehicles and the crash involved two vehicles, according to Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick.

No one was injured.

Traffic was backed up more than eight miles as of 7:10 p.m. However, the backup had cleared by 8:25 p.m.
