CHARLOTTE, NC — If conquering big, bad roller coasters is your passion — there’s a new one in North Carolina that should be next on your list.

It’s called “Fury 325,” and it’s a new addition to Carowinds amusement park in North Carolina. It’s being billed as the world’s tallest and fastest ‘giga coaster,’ a term for ultra-high roller coasters that have a 300-foot drop and completes a full circuit.

At 325 feet tall, it’s a few feet taller than the Statue of Liberty. There’s also an 81 degree drop, and it reaches speeds of more than 95 miles an hour.

The company that owns Carowinds also owns Kings Dominion. That means you can use your gold season pass to try out the new roller coaster.
