RICHMOND, Va. -- The driver of a minivan that ran off Chippenham Parkway south near the Forest Hill exit in South Richmond suffered a medical emergency while driving, emergency officials on scene said. Traffic in the area was confined to one lane as emergency crews responded to the accident. The driver was unconscious when emergency crews arrived. The woman's condition has not yet been released.
"Motorists can expect potential delays due to a vehicle accident. The south left shoulder, left lane, and right lane are closed.
Vehicles are getting by on the acceleration lane," VDOT advised online.
