Henrico outlasts L.C. Bird in double overtime

Richmond gets 14 from Kendall Anthony and 13 from Terry Allen as they beat UMass 56-53. It is their 3rd straight road win and 5th straight win overall to improve to 18-12 overall and 11-6 in the A-10

Walter Williams scored 37 points and pulled down 14 rebounds and teammate De'Monte Buckingham had 29 points and 12 boards as Henrico outlasted L.C. Bird 111-99 in double overtime in the 5A south semifinals. The Skyhawks were led by Jalen Elliott's 24 points and 22 more from Kenny Williams. The loss ends Bird's season at 23-3 while Henrico advances to Friday's 5A South title game and a spot in next week's state semifinals

George Wythe beats Loudon Valley 87-61 behind 17 points from Eric Crews and 16 apiece from Maliek White and Brandon Holley. They will face Hopewell, 63-55 winners over John Champe in Friday's 3A south final.

The L.C. Bird girls team handed Highland Springs their first and last loss of the season 61-46. Taja cole had a game high 38 points. Also advancing in the girls 3A bracket were Petersburg and John Marshall
