RICHMOND, Va. -- Driving on the roads after Thursday morning's snow storm wasn't too much of a problem for Alexander Oplinger.
"It's pretty much like 100 percent clear," the Richmond resident said.
Although he had no issues, other parts of Central Virginia still had some snowy spots.
As a safety precaution, Richmond, Henrico, and Chesterfield all cancelled classes for students on Friday.
"I think overall it's better to be safe than sorry, you don't want to have any accidents," said Oplinger.
Chesterfield Schools Spokesman Shawn Smith said that while the school wishes they could bring students and staff back Friday, many of the county roads were still not passable for buses.
When driving in the inclement weather, it's always important to be careful.
However, some drivers believe to get better traction, you should under-inflate your tires. One Richmond mechanic said that is just a myth.
"It overheats the tires and they'll blow out," said Grayson Campbell.
