CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- About 350 homes were without water Tuesday night, after a valve, due to be replaced, broke this afternoon.

It happened on Centralia Road near Lost Forest, where contractors were replacing water lines as part of a $675,000 dollar upgrade, that has been underway for the past two months.

Crews had installed two new valves when an old valve they were working on broke about 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Ron Hunter arrived home after a 12-hour shift expecting a hot shower, instead he says, he's heading to a relatives for the evening until his water is back on.

Crews were expected to work through the evening to make the repairs to get the water flowing again.
