RICHMOND, Va. -- The Better Business Bureau issued a warning not to reply to emails that claim to be from Anthem. Scammers have sent emails to millions of Anthem customers that look official and even have the Anthem logo on them. Experts with the BBB said the emails are a fraud.

Central Virginia BBB President and CEO Tom Gallagher said scammers are taking advantage of people who fear their credit card information leaked during last week's information breech at Anthem.

In the fake Anthem emails, scammers pose as Anthem employees and ask you to give them your information so they can check and see if your credit score was compromised in the breech. But Gallagher said the emails have no connection to Anthem.

"This is just a routine hacking, where they are able to get even more of your personal information," Gallagher explained . "Do not respond to those emails, do not click reply, do not click to something that is going to be a link to something else."

The BBB called this scam one of the worst they have seen. If you think your information was compromised in the breech, the BBB recommends you call Anthem directly or wait for documents from Anthem to come in the mail.
