LOUISA COUNTY, Va. — A photo of former University of Virginia and New York Giants football great Tiki Barber could be a key piece of evidence that lands a Mineral man in prison for 40 years. Quinton T. Knight, 21, was convicted Wednesday of breaking into and stealing from a Louisa County home, according to Louisa Commonwealth’s Attorney Rusty McGuire. Guns and other items were stolen from the home during the March 2013 crime.
“Knight’s involvement became clear when other items taken during the burglary, including a special edition Tiki Barber photograph, were found in his bedroom,” Adam Ward, with the Louisa Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, said.
McGuire said Knight was only in the victim’s home for “a couple minutes,” but was able to steal three handguns, a shotgun, a rifle and a bag full of other items.
“When guns are stolen in situations like this, they often end up on the streets and are used to commit other crimes,” McGuire said.
Knight faces up to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced April 27.
