CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- All lanes of Hull Street Road (Route 360) at Woodlake Village Parkway have reopened after a construction crane malfunctioned Wednesday morning.
Officials warned that the traffic issues that stemmed from the unstable crane could cause a delay with some Chesterfield County School buses Wednesday afternoon, the school system announced via Twitter.
All lanes of Hull Street Road from Winterpock to Hampton Park were closed for hours Wednesday due to an unstable construction crane near a power line.
"The crane was being used during an ongoing road-widening project on Hull Street Road. A second crane will be used to connect to the unstable crane and lower its boom to the ground," Chesterfield County spokesman Dave Goode said.
The following detours was established:
- From Route 360 eastbound: Take Fox Club Parkway north to Woolridge Road east to Genito Road/Route 604 east to Old Hundred Road/Route 754 south back to Hull Street Road east.
- From Route 360 westbound: Take Winterpock Road/Route 621 south to Beach Road/Route 655 west to Baldwin Creek Road north back to Route 360 west.
VDOT urged drivers to take an alternate route and to expect delays around Woodlake.
