CHESTERFIELD, Va. – Two people have been indicted after more than $60,000 was stolen from a patient who was hospitalized in May 2014.
According to police Angela Johnson has been indicted on 22 charges of embezzlement and obtaining money by false pretenses.
An agency which investigates Medicaid fraud is looking into the false application for medical assistance payments.
The investigation so far indicates that Johnson, the victim’s caretaker, stole more than $60,000 from the victim when they were hospitalized.
According to police, Johnson made fraudulent withdrawals from the victim’s bank accounts.
A second person, Corey Johnson, was just indicted Monday, for charges also related to this crime.
