RICHMOND, Va. – There is a new tool in Richmond that can help reunite lost pets with their owners.

Richmond Animal Control has launched a new website that allows visitors to browse a database of animals in the shelter’s care. Users can also add posts and photos of found animals.

The site also allows users to post photos of lost or stray animals that have been located.

Shelter leaders said they are hopeful the site will allow owners to more quickly reunite with missing pets.

The site also aims to reduce the time some animals are being held at the shelter.
