HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A 31-year-old Henrico former sheriff’s deputy was convicted Wednesday on felony charges, for sexual activity with an inmate.

Former deputy True-Asia Daniels was convicted on sexual battery counts with an inmate, and providing a prisoner with a cellphone.

Sheriff Mike Wade said it happened in the medical section of the Henrico jail where Daniels had been assigned.

Wade said the sexual activity came to light when an inmate overheard the accused and the inmate talking about the pitfalls of having a closeted relationship.

Daniels will appear in court for sentencing on April 20.
