HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Utility crews responded to a water main break in the 8700 block of Woodman Road, south of East Parham Road, near Trevvett Elementary School. Police got the call about the gushing water along the shoulder of Woodman Road at about 1 a.

"Due to the winter weather and school delay, Henrico’s Police Division has advised closing Woodman Road from the intersection at East Parham Road to the intersection at Lydell Drive.  School personnel and residential traffic will be permitted through," Henrico County spokeswoman Tamra McKinney said. "The water main has been temporarily shut down affecting approximately 20 residential customers and three businesses. Motorist in the area should use caution."

Henrico utilities provided the residents who lost water service with two cases of bottle water for the time being.  Crews worked throughout the day to dig down to the broken pipe; however, as of Tuesday afternoon, they had not yet determined was caused the rupture.

The county has not yet provided an estimate on when the broken water main would be repaired. This is a developing story.
