VCU wins 12th straight, VT ends losing streak

14th ranked VCU beat George Washington 72-48 for their 12th win in a row.  Terry Larrier led the Rams with 15.  JeQuan Lewis chipped in with 13 while Mo Alie-Cox added 10 for the Rams, who used an 18-4 run midway in the second half to blow the game open.  VCU won despite their leading scorer, Treveon Graham, scoring just seven points.  The Colonials shot just 27% percent from the field and were just 1-17 from behind the arc.  They also had 16 turnovers and VCU had 12 steals.

Virginia Tech snapped their seven game losing streak with a 70-67 overtime win over Pitt for their first ACC win of the season.  Adam Smith scored a career high 26 points and Malik Muller chipped in with 22.  The Hokies hit 12 three-pointers in the win.

Richmond is back home Wednesday night to host Duquesne, hoping to erase the bad taste of their three point loss at Dayton last Saturday.  Seven of their nine losses this season have been by six points or less.
