RICHMOND, Va.– Crews are working a fire in Church Hill, Sunday afternoon.
Units were alerted to a home located on the 2000 block of Venable Street, after a security smoke detector went off.
They arrived on scene at 11:36a.m., and found heavy smoke coming from the home.
When crews entered the home, they found fire in the basement.
Crews have put out the fire, and checking for any fire extension through out the house.
The fire was marked under control at 12:23p.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
