GULF BREEZE, Fla. — Dash cam video caught a teenager’s emotional reaction when she realized the injured officer she had pulled over to help was her father.
Sgt. Kerstan Tatro had pulled over a driver allegedly going 65 mph in a 35-mph zone, WALA reported.
As Tatro was questioning the women, at the window of her car, when he noticed she put her car into gear, as can be seen in the video.
“Don’t (expletive) do it,” he yells as he reaches into the car to grab the keys out of the ignition.
The driver accelerated with the officer halfway in the car, and consequently he was dragged for a short distance. The car made contact with him as he fell from the side of the car.
The dash-cam video on Tatro’s vehicle shows people pulling over to help the officer.

Tatro’s teenage daughter was on her way home from the mall, according to WALA, and she pulled over to help. She can be seen getting out of the red car to join the group of bystanders surrounding him.
“Dad, are you okay?” she can be heard screaming as she realizes the injured officer is her father.
“Oh my god,” she continued through sobs. “That’s my dad!”
A passing motorist who witnessed the incident not only called 911, but they also followed the driver to a nearby parking lot.
She had drugs in her possession, according to WALA, and was scheduled to go to trial later this month for drug-related charges that included possession of cocaine.
Tatro is married with five children. He had a break in his right arm and stayed in the hospital a few days.
