Richmond may not have snow but that’s not stopping the Children’s Museum of Richmond – Central from having its annual Snow Days Festival Saturday, January 10th from 10am to 4pm. Children can meet Anna and Elsa as they crown the 6th Annual Snow Queen at noon.  There will be lots of snow filled activities. This event is free with museum admission. The Latin Ballet of Virginia celebrates its 15th Anniversary performance of The Legend of the Poinsettia. The production was created in 2001 by Latin Ballet’s Artistic Director Ana Ines king, to give audiences the experience of the different and unique winter holiday traditions from Latin America. The production opens to the public January 9th and runs through January 11th, at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Road, Glen Allen. Wilton House Family Day, featuring the Museum’s current exhibit “Anywhere But Now” Saturday, January 10th, a house tour that focuses on contemporary art, there are also family activities. Annual Ghost Watch at Centre Hill Museum, tickets are on sale now, evening tours of Centre Hill Museum will be offered Saturday, January 24, the event includes ghost story telling and guided tours. Legend has it that a regiment of soldiers, presumably Civil War, makes their presence known at the museum. According to the legend soldiers can be heard marching along the passageway, up the stairs with their sabers clanging going into the room over the office. About 20 minutes later, the soldiers are heard descending the staircase, crossing the hall and leaving after slamming the door. Then all is quiet. Tours begin at 6 pm and will leave every 15 minutes until 8:45 pm. Reservations are required, visit Centre Hill Museum, at 1 Centre Hill Avenue, before January 24. Winter Warrior Women Build: Women Build brings together women from all walks of life to address in a concrete way the housing crisis facing millions of women and children across the globe. All participants receive a t-shirt and lunch on site the day they volunteer. Your registration fee of $37 goes directly to the current local housing projects. Available Projects- $37/person.
