RICHMOND, Va. — Two accidents on I-64 east and west backed up traffic coming into and out of Richmond not far from VCU Medical Center Thursday morning.
VDOT warned drivers should expect major delays because of a tractor-trailer accident on I-64 east at mile marker 190. That’s the portion of the interstate near N. 5th and Hospital streets. That wreck has the right shoulder of the I-64 east exit ramp closed. As of 10:41 a.m., traffic was backed up about one mile.
Additionally, a vehicle fire at mile marker 191 on I-64 west has the right lane of the exit ramp to I-95 north blocked. That incident has caused a half a mile backup as of 10:45 a.m.
As of noon, both accidents had been cleared and traffic was back to normal.
