parking deckRICHMOND, Va. – New Year’s Eve is a night of merriment, a time to clink glasses and blow party favors as we excitedly welcome 2015.

Dear revelers: It is not the night to blow high blood alcohol content, or wind up in the clinker because of drunk driving.

In fact, a lot of local organizations are working to make sure you get home safely.

Not only are there lots of taxis, even free taxis, City Parking has announced they will extend the hours of their parking decks so you can leave your car there overnight.

If you are coming downtown to celebrate the holiday you can pay a flat fee to enter one of City Parking’s decks shown on the map.

Then you can take a cab home if you imbibe too much, and return whenever on January 1 to pick up your vehicle.

It is $5 cash or credit to park. You can even conveniently pay with your phone, using the phone app PassportParking.Click here for more information.
