RICHMOND: The 2014 Capital City Kwanzaa Festival sponsored by the Elegba Folklore Society is Saturday, December 27, from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. This year's Theme is  Kujichagulia: Reclaiming Our Communities Through Self-Determination.

The Doors and The African Market will open at 1 p.m., The Kwanzaa Candle Lighting Ceremony is at 2 p.m., performances start at 2:30 p.m. with Wildfire, The Elegba Folklore Society performers at 3:30 p.m., The Nia Sessions & Watoto Kwanzaa at 4:30 p.m., speaker James Small is at 4:30 p.m. followed by G7 Jazz at 5:45 p.m. and Plunky & Oneness will take the stage at 8 p.m. This year's festival is at the newly renovated Altria Theater, 6 North Laurel Street, for tickets and more information visit www.elegbafolkloresociety.org or call 804-644-3900.
