Take the family to the Grand Illumination and tree-lighting ceremony at Fort Lee

FORT LEE, Va. — The Grand Illumination and tree-lighting ceremony at Fort Lee will take place December 4 at 4:30 p.m. on the Lee Club lawn near the corner of Mahone Avenue and Battle Drive.

“The celebration offers fun for the whole family,” event coordinator Dan Gauvin said. “There are music and holiday treats, and the children really light up when Santa arrives via a fire truck.”

Santa is scheduled to arrive at 5 p.m.

“Out of all the events here, I find this one really brings Fort Lee families and the community together,” Gauvin said. “Military members, family members, civilians, contractors and volunteers all do their part to bring the holiday spirit to Fort Lee.”

The event is free. A valid state- or government-issued ID card with photo is required for anyone 18 years old or older to access the installation.
