CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A group that performs motorcycle and bike stunts to help spread the word of Jesus Christ will hold a free event Wednesday night at Thomas Dale High School in Chesterfield.

Several area churches came together to bring Real Encounter Outreach to town.

Leading up to Wednesday night’s event, the group has performed stunts at seven Chesterfield school assemblies this week, according to Ironbridge Baptist Church youth pastor Chris Palmer.

“We use these Action Sports elements to connect with all ages of people. The extreme stunt show is our platform, but make no mistake; Jesus Christ has center-stage in our lives as individuals and our message as a ministry,” Real Encounter founder Brad Bennett said on the group’s website.

Real Encounter performed at Meadowbrook High School and Salem Middle School on Monday, LC Bird High School and Clover Hill High School on Tuesday and Matoaca High School, Elizabeth Scott Elementary and Curtis Elementary on Wednesday.

During these public school assemblies, the group must change its religious message.

“It is a character-based assembly that promotes positive decision-making,” Chesterfield Schools spokesman Shawn Smith said.

“They encourage children to make positive choices, surround yourself with the right people, watch what you eat and what you view on television and online,” Palmer added.

Palmer said the group advises public school children to know about the obstacles in their lives and how they can overcome those obstacles to reach their dreams.

Wednesday night’s free event at Thomas Dale High School starts at 6:30 p.m. and is open to all ages.

Several churches, including Cornerstone Assembly, Enon Baptist, The Heights Baptist, and Ironbridge Baptist, paid $13,000 to bring Real Encounter to Chesterfield.
