Weekend Events: Celtic Fest & Highland Games, Pet Expo, Pumpkin Palooza Festival of the Grape and more

12th annual Powhatan Festival of The Grape — SOLD OUT, hosted by the Powhatan Chamber of Commerce, Saturday, October 25th at the Historic Courthouse Square in Powhatan, sample and enjoy wines from thirty Virginia wineries  and if you prefer hops over grapes, a craft beer truck will be on site. Also features food vendors, artisans and craftspeople and live  music all day by Southern Tide and The Janitors. New this year a hat parade, participants are encouraged to design and create their own hats themed with Powhatan’s Festival of the Grape flair and should line up at the main stage at 1:15, parade starts at 1:30pm, prizes include one night stay at the Sheraton Park Hotel, Midlothian, $20 gift certificate to the County Seat Restaurant, wine glasses, wine bag and more.  Details http://www.PowhatanWineFestival.com.

Central Virginia Celtic Fest and Highland Games, Saturday & Sunday, October 25th & 26th, 9am – 6pm at Richmond Raceway Complex. Stache Bash 2014, The American Mustache Institute brings its annual costume-heavy hairy Halloween celebration presented by Wahl Trimmer, Saturday, October 25th, 8pm -11pm, at Haxall Point by F.W. Sullivan’s, 1001 Haxall Point, Downtown. The event benefits M4K Richmond, which raises funds to improve the quality of life for Richmond-area children. Features The Band Stache,  and the Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the year will be crowned. Grandmaster Y.K. Kim and the Martial Arts World Organization shows support for the Autism Society Central Virginia at its annual Exhibition Team Championships. Funds raised at the annual event will benefit ASCV’s mission of improving the lives of all affected by autism by maximizing the self-sufficiency, independence and quality of life for individuals living with autism.  Funds will support education, awareness, social opportunities, scholarships and advocacy. All funds raised at this event stays locally. Innsbrook’s Great Pumpkin Palooza, Saturday, October 25th, 10am – 4pm at North Shore Commons Lawn, 4951 Lake Brooke Drive, Glen Allen; there will be pony rides, petting zoo, bouncy houses, live entertainment, straw bale maze and make sure to wear your Halloween costumes for the costume contests. LOBS & Lights Glow Tennis Events, 10th anniversary celebration to benefit VCU Lobs & Lessons, a nighttime glow-in-the-dark tennis experience, featuring a space-like atmosphere. The Virginia Caribbean Education Exchange Foundation’s (VCEEF) invites the public to an elegant evening of Caribbean High Tea.
