Suspect arrested for threatening men, shooting out vehicle’s window

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A suspect police said shot at two men in a Chesterfield apartment building parking lot on Sunday morning has been arrested.

Chesterfield police said the shooting happened in a parking lot in the 3100 block of Tanners Way about 10:55 a.m. as two men were walking to a dumpster.

That’s when authorities said the suspect, 23-year-old Jose M. Matos Pacheo, walked up and threatened one of the victims. At that point, police said the suspect fired a handgun, striking out the rear window of a vehicle in the parking lot.

Then the suspect got back into his vehicle and took off.

No one was injured.

“Witnesses gave police a description of the suspect vehicle, a blue Honda Civic, whichwas located in Richmond,” Elizabeth Caroon, Public Information Coordinator for Chesterfield County Police Department, wrote in a statement. “The suspect, Jose M. Matos Pacheo, 23, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.”

Pacheo, of the 3500 block of Luckylee Crescent, is being held without bond at the Chesterfield County Jail.

Police said their investigation into the incident continues.
