72-year-old man killed in Culpeper hit-and-run

CULPEPER COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run accident in Culpeper County that killed a 72-year-old man from  Locust Grove.

Officials said the accident happened on Route 3 westbound just west of Rt. 620 (Yellow Bottom Road) either Thursday night or early Friday morning.

State police said Robert Lee Walker was walking along the highway when he was struck and killed. His body was discovered Friday morning.

Authorities are working to find the driver and vehicle involved, which is believed to be red and likely has left front corner damage.
