SUFFOLK, Va. — Nine students were on a  Franklin Public Schools bus when it collided with a car on East Washington Street in Suffolk at about 6:40 a.m. Thursday, according to a report on WTKR.com. None of the students, who were headed to the SECEP program at John F. Kennedy Middle School, were seriously injured. The school bus driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the car that hit the bus ran away from the scene, police said.
