MIDLOTHIAN, Va. -- Police released the name of the teenager killed outside the Genito Glen Apartments in Midlothian Wednesday night. Malachi K. Elliott, 19, of Beaver Falls Road, was either sitting or lying in the parking lot at about 8 :25 p.m. when he was struck and killed by a car turning onto Hailey Crescent Drive.
The woman driving the car said she did not see Elliott in the roadway.
While Elliott and the woman both lived in the area, there was no relationship between the two, according to Chesterfield Police.
The driver, who stopped after she hit the man, does not face any charges at this time.
Toxicology tests will be performed in this case to determine whether the man or woman were under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
