Aretha Franklin, the now 72-year-old Queen of Soul, killed it during her performance of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” on the “Late Show with David Letterman”  Monday night.

The iconic signer blew away the crowd at the Ed Sullivan Theater as she seamlessly flowed from Adele’s hit into the classic “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

And adding to the performance was Cissy Houston, Whitney Houston’s mother and acclaimed gospel great, who sang backup during the medley.

The appearance promotes the singer’s latest album, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, which goes on sale Oct. 21.

The “Late Show with David Letterman” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS 6.
