CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – A driver was Medflighted to the hospital after her car hit a tree and landed in a creek in Chesterfield County Monday afternoon. Chesterfield Fire and EMS spokesman Lt. Jason Elmore said the car was traveling on Nash Road near Highland Glen Drive when it struck a tree around 3:15 p.m. The vehicle then ran down an embankment and landed in a creek.

Because of recent heavy rains, the car was partially submerged in the creek. Photos showed crews used a  ladder to reach the vehicle and pull out the driver. She was then flown to VCU Medical Center to be treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Yes, the 16-year-old driver who was going to a doctor’s appointment and was driving too fast because
she was running late, yes, she should be financially destroyed for the rest of her life. That’ll teach her. The broken pelvis and lacerated bladder she suffered? That’s just icing on the cake. This is someone’s child you are talking about, Ron. I hope you keep that in mind when your children begin driving. I hope they never, ever make a mistake.

No, Sam. If the injured person has insurance, their insurance is billed. I know – my mother was medflighted to MCV after an accident.
