HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — The 84-year-old driver of a 2009 Jeep Liberty was charged with reckless driving after the Jeep hit a school bus Tuesday morning along the 12700 block of Greenwood Road in Glen Allen. The bus was stopped to pick up a child at about 8 a.m. when the Jeep ran into the back of the bus, Hanover Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Chris Whitley said.

None of the nine students on the bus were treated for injuries. While the bus suffered little damage, the students boarded another bus to continue their trip to  Liberty Middle and Patrick Henry High schools.

The Jeep driver was not taken to the hospital.
